Transitioning to 1982 Piper Warrior.

Remember the fuel pump and forget the carb heat... but remember it's there if you need it ;)

Oh and don't forget to switch tanks... I would guess that there's nothing more embarrassing than landing on a highway... with PLENTY OF GAS.

I just trasition from a 150 to the warrior and that was the biggest problem for me. I keep forgetting to switch tanks, and keep forgetting to turn the furl pump on or off at the right times. I like not having to use the carb heat.

I also think it's much easier to land smoothly. The 150 was just too light and got thrown around alot more.

Well after getting my privates in a 1972 Cessna 172 than transitioning to a 2005 Warrior III here at OU. I didn't have any trouble at all. I find that you dont have to use as much rudder in the Warrior during climbs and turns. As for landing, the only time i think theres a big difference is if your coming in a little hot. The warrior will float forever if your just a little hot where i think the Cessna settled down easier.

Wait? I thought that Cessna's float more than pipers?

YF, I just switched from a high wing 172 to a low wing Piper Arrow for my CSEL complex time...let me just say that my first 2 landings were like a dropping brick once you cut that power.

It was fun though :)

If memory serves, the taper wings float like a cessna, more or less. Try a hershey bar if you want to go kaplunk when you pull the power.

The worst are the clipped wing, Hershey bar, 180 HP Arrows.

The only time I've landed harder than I did in that thing was my second landing in the jet.
