Transition time?

I am currently a 800 hour fixed wing CFI, CFII and MEI

Wondering how long, and what I have to do to start flyin helicopters and become a CFI so I can build time?


Are the helicopter ratings an add on? Do I have to get a private helicopter certificate, or can I go right to commercial?
 
Yes it's an 'add on' - I don't have the time requirements in front of me but it's been discussed here several times - look thru a couple of the posts further down and you should find it.

I'm not (yet) a helicopter pilot but I've had several friends transition from fixed wing thinking they could do it right at the add on time minimums and they both went over what's required for the normal requirements nevermind the add on requirements.....don't count on doing it in the minimum time.
