Transition from indoc to SIM and then IOE

Good call on living in base. Commuting to reserve or to a crappy schedule makes it 2x as bad. You're never rested and relaxed when you're at home, work is more of a chore than it should be, and you have to somehow keep your life organized while you're spending half of your few days off commuting.

Have to second the living in base thing. I commuted for a while when I started. I was fortunate enough to hold a line out of training and it still sucked. The schedules were usually commutable at at least one end, almost never both ends and for me it was a 2 or 3 leg commute. I live in base now and the QoL difference is huge.

Sorry you have to be an airline pilot to know what they are. It's kind of like the secret handshake they teach you once you pass indoc.

Gorgeous?! That's like Bigfoot, there are rumors that they exist, but no ones seen them for years!
