I was wondering what transfer options are like once you get certified. I am used to being able to being able to find a job fairly quickly. Once staffing levels get to what they should be, how difficult will it be to transfer to other facilities?
Out of curiosity, I was looking at current opening. I found this announcement.....
Position: Air Traffic Control Specialist,FV-2152-K, Job Category:Specialized
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must show specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as: 1)Must have held an FAA 2152-FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters positions for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; OR 2)Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; (Note: an employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility that is upgraded is considered to meet the qualification requirements of the upgraded position, since he or she has been performing the higher graded work; OR 3) Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.
What is FAA 2152-F V-J/FG-14? I will have to be this series and pay grade for a year before I am able to transfer, but is that an entry level controller?
