What is UND Aviation like? Is it a good program? Out of State tuiton? Is it worth it? How far away is airport from the campus? In state tuiton? And social life?
Thanks
I only visited there, but I was really impressed with everything. All the planes and equipment were really top notch. Only downside was the price.

I think it's a good program. It's tailored to a different goal, though. I don't think it was exactly "fun."Is it a good program?
Not sure how much it is now but you can qualify for in-state after one year.Out of State tuiton?
That's subjective, read through the threads. Is it worth it?

I cannot recommend UND.... that being said... like Jace mentioned when I went through it was reasonably cheap.
Downsides to going to UND.... without badmouthing the town itself....
1. Airline oriented... I disagree with glass panels hands down.... then again I flew WX Modification and freight for a while.
2. Seemingly ridiculous rules.... ahem.... CRJ course was required for graduation when the book with grad requirements said nothing about it.... the course was added just prior to my final semester.
3. Pathetic business office operations.... personal records were disclosed without consent.... WTF.
Am I a better pilot for having gone there? Maybe. In retrospect would I do it again? No. Did I have fun? Not while learning to fly..... if it weren't for my friends I would have quit pretty quickly.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Big :yeahthat:
I actually have had professors tell the class that everyone at UND wants the same thing; to fly the biggest, faster, largest jet possible. That couldn't be further from my career goals and grouping everyone into such a category was just absurd. UND is VERY VERY airline oriented. Also like you said, it totally sucks the fun out of flying as well.
belliott did you do the Weather Mod internship at UND or get a job in WX Mod? I am planning on doing the Weather Mod internship next summer.
go to Western Michigan instead :-D
