I think that I have posted this before but never got a solid answer... On climb to 350 TSA is again looking for FO's in ord, iad, and PIT. I'm confused about the PIT part. Any ideas?

Nothing set in stone, but we're expecting 10 additional airplanes and hiring 14 additional crews per airplane (140 new hires).

The PIT thing has been on there for a few years. The best thing to do would be to email Kathy (recruiting) and ask if a PIT base is in the works...I doubt it, but you never know. Things tend to come way out of left field at TSA.

There are a lot of changes going on at TSA. Were getting new flying, around 10 planes, tablets for current and new hires after your background check clears, paperless everything pretty much, maintenance issues from the past are now down to 0.7 MEL's / plane, etc... Lots of good changes, and upgrade time will be relatively quick as well once these new planes get on the line, and new flying comes on board. All is rumored right now, but just wait it out, and let the games continue.

7 new planes for United Express starting in April and the 6 UEX planes that were supposed to end in Sept 2013 have been extended further for 18 more months.

Please God, let those new planes be LR's instead of EP's.... and throw in some thrust reversers, too. Getting to work is challenging enough without those obstacles.

It's CT350, there's a good chance the posting is from up to 5 years ago.

Yo bro. Totally know what you mean. I almost got EP'd a few weeks ago, thankfully half-a Girl Scout camp was on board or something. Half-weights saves lives, folks.

Unfortunately, they didn't say which model of plane were getting. However, looking at the OPS SPEC, there's only 5 planes that are EP's. I would only have to assume that they're all going to be LR's ..... Maybe that's just my inner self wanting the LR over the EP...

I was hearing today EPs from South America (all hear say stuff) but who knows. We could get XRs, wouldn't that be nice :bounce:

The XR is a sweet plane. However, the FAA realizes the changes from the LR to the XR, and I believe they would require extra training on the differences. That was from an XJET pilot form what I heard. Nice thing is we have those differences cards for EP to LR, which would be the same as the LR to XR... .02 mach higher, 4000nm range, I think it has a higher max PA, etc... good stuff.

No differences training for EP/LR -> XR. XR has better engines, higher MTOW & VMO/MMO (320/.80), different flap speeds, and winglets.

XJET FO

congrats to my waterski friends (B200 hawk, hope things are goin well bro!)

He's right and seeing as XJT was the only XR customer I dont think ours are going anywhere.

Sounds like 1 EP, 3 LRs and 3 MPs (supposedly EP MGTOW but higher ZFW and MGLW)
yyyyyep. I was at the meeting today. I got all the news, but i'll let someone else post it. Oh, and NO TSA is not going to Canada. UAL just hasn't updated their computer system from last year for May.
