Trans States and Skywest flight benefits

An important consideration would be the ability to fly DIRECT. If you don't have connections to worry about, then there's less chance of getting bumped.

This is true, it's nice living in a hub city.
Even living near one (like within an hour's drive) makes direct flying doable. I wish I'd thought of this when flying back to my home in PA. I used to do STL-DTW and DTW-ABE. I got held up in DTW a time or two when flying back to STL. Now, if I'd flown in and out of EWR's UA hub, I could have taken direct flights to and from STL. The downside is that EWR is an hour from my house, while ABE is 20 minutes away. Though going to EWR for a 6 AM outbound flight would have been a PITA, I wouldn't have had to worry about getting bumped because I'd have a direct flight to STL; there wouldn't have been any connecting flight to louse up the works.

Curious if anyone has applied to the Dispatcher posting from either of these airlines? Has anyone heard anything?

I applied to the last few TSA openings this year and never heard anything or received a TBNT.

When I applied to the last SkyWest opening in May I received a invite for the one-way video interview about 5 business days after the job posting closed. About a week after I submitted the video interview I got an invite for an in-person interview.

Hope the historical info helps the anxiety while waiting for an email/phone call!

Good luck!

Just so folks know, TSA's sister carrier, GoJet, has a DX opening also. Please be advised that it's been up a while now, so who knows if the position is actually open?

Since its wholly owned what is listing like? I heard its seniority based (I hear its seniority based excepted at the 3 under AAG), also do you pay for non-revving?

Seniority based, 9E goes at priority S3A on mainline DL which is below mainline employees, dependents, and some parents, but above mainline retirees, most DL parents, all other regionals, and buddy passes. On 9E metal, they are S3 which is in line with mainline employees and dependents, based on seniority.

They got rid of the activation fee a couple years ago so there is no charge except for international taxes, which you'll pay on any airline. Parents also travel free (which differs from the AA wholly-owneds) but are limited to 6 transoceanic flights per year (unlimited domestic).

So DL gets priority on DL metal but 9E doesn't get priority on 9E metal? Sounds about right...

They treated Comair even worse after the NW merger. Made them fly at S3C on mainline metal, just below non-depenant kids of mainline employees. It really made you felt appreciated.
