Training Stress.....

Just a quick question... I am a student at dca working on my private and instrument at the same time. I have been hammering info since august of this year and as I get closer to the checkrides we are having more and more stage checks. It is getting very stressful and I was thinking about taking a week off and visiting family for x-mas. I was contimplating whether or not taking the time off. Do you think it would be a good idea to keep trucking and get the ratings out of the way as soon as possible, or take a break?

Thanks

I'd take the time off and visit the family. To me there's nothing more important than family and if you're going to be in this industry the number of holidays you'll be able to spend with family are numbered, at least for a while.

You should be able to have fun while you train. There should be a little bit of stress involved because that's healthy. But if you're not enjoying it, go somewhere else.

I really enjoy it..... (with the exception of Dca's cost) lol. The only regret I have is taking the new private/instrument course, instead of taking them one at a time. but if I would have done that i wouldn't be training in the cirrus either.

Take the break you need and enjoy Christmas with your family, like Screaming_Emu said this chance might not be around for you during the next several years.

I'd say you have a pretty good consensus here. Take a break. Give you brain a rest and enjoy the holidays.

If you're that close I say push through up to the holidays. If you can finish before them, great - no stress over the holidays. I see too many students "take a break" and it sets them far behind.
