Traffic 12 o'clock 7 miles type and altitude unknown

Good to see that the rulemakers are just as rediculous in other countries too.

The most recent one was changes to the definition of icing, and the elimination of trace icing. that lasted such a short amount of time,I'd bet most pilots on here didnt even know about it.

Weren't they also threatening to add "heavy icing" so the terminology would line up with precipitation? Like you said, it was so shortlived everyone ignored it.

;)

I see you're planning on flying to Yarmouth, CYQI, I've been living and flying in Atlantic Canada for 12 years now, and I want to just say, on 15 different occasions I had plans to fly to YQI, every single time it socked in with fog. The rest of the planet can be screaming VFR, Yarmouth can be 1/8 mile, and it socks in fast often unforcasted.

Not saying you can't fly there, but plan a good alternate, CYSJ is similar weather, CYFC or CYQM have decent weather year round, CYHZ can be touchy as well as a VFR airport.

If you're IFR, then forget the previous few lines.

Come to CYQM, I'll buy your beer.

So true about Yarmouth. The fog cleared 20 minutes before I landed here. It has very specific weather indeed. Could not make it up to Moncton too much fun too little time may hop to claim my beer later in August.

Glad you had a safe trip!

If you want some beautiful scenery to fly over, take a look at CYYG. If you end up looking at CYSU, it's got a decent airport, and will host a major airshow this year (including the Blue Angels) but 95% of the time there's nobody there to man the UNICOM radios, and might be tough to get fuel.

Planning Stanley CCW4 Fly in on Friday Aug 31. Might stop for a beer around noon :) AOE people friendly?
Cool! Wish I could make that fly-in I've never been. Not sure who AOE people are? :S It's maritime Canada, everyone's nice here :)
