Tourist dies after being hit by jet blast on in St. Maarten

Eventually they'll probably put a jet blast fence.
Can't do that...then the planes will actually crash when the pilots continue to dip lower and lower for the sake of looking cool.

And before anyone starts saying "well us tier one US guys..." there is no shortage of pictures and video of American, delta, JetBlue, united, or any other airline doing it. People are stupid when they think they look cool. My takeaway from @RDoug 's photo was "wow they actually look to be on a normal glidepath."

Yet it was a KLM whale that hit the fence with its MLG. Was sitting at the boat bar and watched it happen. For the next month or so, no whales were allowed to fly there.

As someone who has been the victim of minimal jet blast more than a handful of times from planes taxiing out (and ignorance on my part a few times not paying attention that engines were on still at the gate) , I can honestly say I do not see the fun in being pelted in the face with take-off speed thrust debris and jet fumes.

I still recall my dad pointing out to me when I was but a youngster a SAC alert truck with a huge dent in the shell covering the bed. That dent was put there by the blast of a KC-135A on the alert pad spooling up for a MITO launch. I'd hate to be the crew member sitting on that side of the truck bed when that dent suddenly appeared where my head was.
