Top 10 unusual flight delay reasons

There was this one time I was flying USAirways through Charlotte...and then this other time through Philly...

Need I say more?

I wasn't on the trip, but our boss took his girlfriend along on a business trip. They went to the meeting, she went shopping. They showed back up at the FBO to go home and she wasn't there, so they called to find out where she was. She told them "at the airport...hold on...(asks the name of the FBO)...Atlantic Aviation." Funny thing; the boss, plane, and everyone else was at Atlantic Aviation as well, so they spent the next few minutes looking for each other.

Long story short, she was at the Atlantic Aviation at the OTHER airport in the city of brotherly love. Another member here that I work with can correct me if I'm wrong, but it took about an hour for her to get there.

I was delayed 3 hours coming home on Monday because of a broken toilet.... I know its a 2 hour flight but come on.
Normally that wouldn't be that long, but now the baby likes hanging out on my bladder and 15 minutes is a long times sometimes. ;)

Delayed one flight several hours before doing a swap because a raccoon climbed up the aft stairs on a 727 at night and procedded to enjoy his new home back there, not sure how many modifications he made.

The best one was a Fronteir flight from ABQ to DEN, boarding was delayed because a bird that had been nesting in the jetway flew into the aircraft when the door was opened. It took less than an hour, and when the gate agent was informed to start the boarding, that person made an announcement that the bird had been taken care of. Just prior to the pax boarding, one of the flight attendants started cooking their dinner in the ovens, so the aircraft was filled with an unidentifiable cooked food smell. The flight attendants couldn't figure out why alot of the passengers were laughing when they came on board.

That's it more or less. Even better when you know who wanted to start the APU an hour early so they'd be comfortable when they got in. I think we had 2.5 on the APU and .8 flight time.
