Today's the day-- bye bye USAF!

I swear I read that as "I thanked my first wife first". I've been in aviation too long.

Sincere congrats and thanks on your retirement, though! I hope the next chapter is as successful.

I don't have any military experience and I'm not a "Merica-Love it or leave it person". But when my uncle retired from the Navy nearly a decade ago, the pomp and circumstance definitely hit me in the feels. Congrats and thank you for your service.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the sentiments from everyone, really.

Wanna hear something funny? Today, I got a standardized e-mail having to do with Arlington National Cemetery. Apparently, they are changing the rules regarding who is eligible to be buried there or some such, and DFAS just wanted to let me (and the rest of the military) know that the rules are a-changin'.

Anywhoo... I see this e-mail and I'm like, "Wait, I've been out for 3 weeks now, and you want to keep me apprised of the rules of getting buried at the fancy cemetery? Damn Air Force-- you cold! I'm only 41 fer chrissakes!!1!1!one!"
