Artemis II is looking good for launch on Wednesday and the window opens at 18:24 eastern. With all the stupid going on right now, a bright spot for science and exploration once again.

Will be fun to watch them slingshot around the moon and gather data for next missions.

I cannot love this thread enough. I was heading down the coast a while back before the roll back in to the VAB. It’s grainy but it’s there. Also of note they stripped all the markings off the Shuttle’s runway.

Also, as I'm a sucker for random space facts...

I was reminded the other day that ALL of the other planets could fit between Earth and the Moon. That's how far the moon is though it seems so close, still a 4 day travel time for Artemis.

Yeah it's pretty crazy to think about.

I also like the good explanations of just how spread out and far everything is in our solar system. Then to even think about say how far Alpha Centauri is and beyond. It's fun to go down the rabbit hole.
