To make it CLEAR.......

That seems like it could be lucrative... Don't tell anyone ;)

The problem is it sucks for the customers, we aren't talking about a few mins here and there. We are talking about over blocking by 70% or more. It also sucks because he is not a commuter.

Mark what was your point in this thread? Just another rant by you? I know you and your Colgan pilots use this forum a lot because you do not have your own company one, but really? Was it just to show off that you have that extra stripe? You have yet to comment as to why you started this pissing match....

See post 19...

It was based upon a statement in that thread by jhugz. Just wanted to make sure it was clear that the PIC has authority over the jumpseat.

He likes to say 200KTS is the best speed for fuel savings. The real reason is over block. He like to pick up OT and then go 30 in 7 and get it dropped, but get paid for it. The flaps is because he likes to aero brake the jet.:banghead:

Sounds like a situation cut out for..

Dunt dunta daaaaah!

Professional Standards.

Funny you say that. Pro Standards has talk to him a few times and has now washed their hands of him. He is very anti-union because of the talks for pro standards. The LEC reps and Pro reps tell people to take the problem to the company. IF the company wants him gone the union is not going to stop them(Word is they are working on it.).

So not the thread where Nick was talking about his captain denying the CAL jumpseater?

Just so we're on the same page here, I was fully in agreement with my captains decision to take the other jumpseater instead of a scab who was acting like a jerk.

Seggy clearly made the statement in a thread that two wrongs do not make a right in a thread about F/A's.

Now let us keep in mind that Seggy is not a F/A for an airline so obviously he shouldn't be posting in this thread...correct?

I bring up an exception to the rule he just posted. Deny J/S's to scabs etc...

He tries to justify that it isn't wrong to do this because it's the PIC's decisions. I'm not debating him on the PIC decision to have a J/S'er onboard but it made me laugh that he breaks the rule he just tried to preach.

It seems to me that he wasn't the one that started the pissing match. He just made a statement of fact.

They still get through the cracks.

Otherwise there would be no problems right?

The fact that there are so few problems makes it pretty clear to me that the system does work. Frankly, I'm amazed that with such a huge group of Type A personalities, there are so few "problem children" at an airline that everyone knows them by name, and you can usually count them all on your fingers.

There is a list of a few (5) CA in ORD that the CP has no problem with FOs walking off a trip.

Does EGL have a no-fly list?

Does EGL have a no-fly list?

We USE to have one.. but they got rid of it.. nobody wanted to fly with a # of people and it started to cause problems with scheduling I was told.

Seems to me if a person is on 95% of the pilot groups no-fly list.. there is a serious problem there and they should have to find a new line of work..

My last 2 days with GV we overblocked 4 hrs in 2 days. While the extra pay is nice, I feel bad for all the misconnects he causes.. Its especially bad when he does it going into a hub at night and you know if you are late these people are going to be spending the night because they miss the last connecting flights out..

Yes, he likes to do Air Force style F-15 landings holding the nose off forever until it slams down finally..

Aeronautics Professor at Auburn University
Has Alabama's deepest swimming pool at 37' deep

Oh gawd! The first one is pretty darn easy to debunk. Please tell me that he doesn't live in Auburn though. I would hate that he is from my Alma Mater.

As far as the second, I believe NASA in Huntsville holds that record.

I just did a search in the staff.. No record of him at Auburn. He supposedly is currently employed there on the teaching staff.

I'm sure he uses a different name though to keep his cover:D
