Tip the Damned Maid! (An article about tipping)

Lol, I live in the Midwest. Things are pretty cheap here. We occasionally eat at red lobster or outback and keep it under 50 bucks. I've been to Ruth's Chris once and I almost passes out when I got the check, but it was the best steak I've ever eaten.

Ruth's Chris good? You poor mis-guided soul. You are mistaking the sizzle of a hot plate and a piece of meat coated in butter for a good meal.

If you don't receive good service don't tip, hotels, vans, wait staff, gardeners, babysitters, dog walkers. @ATN_Pilot is a bit delusional regarding this subject. A tip is based on the service provided, not an expectation of service. If some dunderhead can't do his/her job properly than they don't deserve a bonus. There are many fine people that work service jobs to supplement their true calling, there are also some that have reached their peak earning potential, I've heard there are career baristas at Starbucks. This just seems retarded.

I went to a Christian high school. The majority of "Christians" are not "Christ like." They hide behind the bible, rather than live by it.

Faith is not an excuse to get away with what others openly admit to.
Village Christian? I got kicked out in the 7th grade because I wouldn't conform.

I went to Christian school in middle and high school. I still remember the school-wide assembly that the principal called to warn us about the evils of anyone going to a Marilyn Manson concert that was coming to town, and how we would be kicked out of school if he found out that we went (a very Christ-like thing to say, of course). I decided against telling him that Brian Warner was good friends with my cousin. :)

Give me a better place and I'll try it. Maybe the New Orleans chefs just know how to do it.

I really don't understand why you are tolerated here. It's sad really. You are clearly someone with a lot of experience in the industry who could be a rather big aid for those of us who are not as experienced.

Unfortunately your toxicity negates much of that potential.

I have formed a lot of respect for him through the years. Because when he was still flying for a living, he did help a lot of guys through his union. But he also isn't afraid to tell it like it is. And he may be harsh sometimes, but when you want to have an honest discussion with him, when it's over, it's over. He doesn't hold grudges. Which is a lot more than I can say for some around here.

You're welcome to put me on the ignore list if you'd like. Won't make me shed any tears. Or you could sack up and realize that someone who tells you exactly what he thinks is better than some pantywaist who minces words in order to make people happy. Your choice.

Maybe we can all agree to just top tank every hotel room we stay in?

I just wanted a bookmark for this thread, ill see myself out.

I'd be behind you on this, except for the fact that you're always nice and polite at NJC. What you're doing here is playing "Keyboard Kommando" when you're behind a screen, and that's not very respectable.

In any case, screen or in-person, it's unacceptable to call others "scum" due to a difference in opinion. You're an adult who should know this by now.

Where's the number for JC ProStan?
