Tiny turtle brings Airtran flight back to gate..

Next time I fly my carry-on is going to be filled with these

let em loose, oh the humanity, spiders on a plane. We could make a movie about it. It would be about a little boy who gets a spider for a xmas present, then on the way back home the airline makes him throw it away. Jump 20 years later and he gets his revenge.

"Sir! The door is already closed! Sir, I'm sorry sir. It doesn't matter if the airplane is still there, the door is closed. Sir! You'll have to make other accommodations. SIR!" :D
10 minutes before departure doors close, a movie doesn't wait for you to start and a flight won't wait for you to leave.

Man, I can only imagine the trouble I'd be in if I threw a turtle away...then again this is SFO, the attitude may be a little different.

If there were a transcript of the event it would probably go:
"Whathaheeeeeellz tha thang doing in yo bag? Trow dat daym thang out I ain't gon touch it and I aint gon axe twice!"

Jesus, that is one angry tarantula. To get a bald spot that large on its rump, it's been kicking hairs at people/things for a while.....

AirTran: We hate your pets.

Any other PR slogans for them now? :)
AirTran: Where live animals are throwaway cargo

:)

very poor form in throwing away a live animal...had the gate agent not rescued it, it'd be stuffed in a trash bag in some landfill or something unable to escape it's dddooooommmmm :(

Southwest has a NO animal policy (service animals not included in that, of course).

Actually, Southwest just started allowing small dogs and cats into the cabin, but no live animal cargo. You can even buy a carrier sporting the Southwest logo to cary them in. The policy just changed a few months ago.

I am very pleased that at least one person had compassion for all life, not just human life. It would be nice if that trait was a bit more widespread though ........

I pulled the pic off of wikipedia. The properties are in the pic if you want to read the article.

Thanks! I didn't know SW had changed their policy! :)

I did not know until I was on a flight (a couple months ago) when a UM brought a • (that is a cat Calcapt) on board in a SW logo carrier, so I asked the gate agent and she said that it had just happened where small pets could go in the cabin. She also said that the logo carrier was not a requirement, people could use their own airline approved carrier if they wished.

So some kids bring something not allowed on an airplane, onto an airplane, the airline gives them several options, and the kids make a stupid decision to throw their pet away, yet somehow it's AirTran's fault?

From the way the article sounded, I don't think the airline gave them a "Leave it here until your dad gets back" option. Now, if that's true or not, I have no clue since I wasn't there. Where did it say the airline gave them several options?
