Timmy's baaack...

The gentleman I recommended (@amorris311 knows him as well as @Cruise) for the profile to appear after Tim Martins was very humble that his profile wasn't going to happen and understood. I was LIVID that homework wasn't done with the Tim Martins article and that someone who truly deserved to be profiled was snubbed. I think that is the real sad thing with all of this. A truly deserving individual got snubbed because of a jackass.

Are his initials TP by chance?

Didn't know that. That description fit the bill though. Especially the humble part.
Certainly does. He was in the training department at ATI (and Colgan if I recall correctly, but I probably don't). He's one of the great ones and I can't begin to express my respect for how much he's gone through with such a phenomenal attitude.

As for the pilot Seggy recommended for the ALPA articles....he's an excellent guy. You won't find a pilot more deserving of recognition. His help with our Safety Committee was instrumental in all the gains we made in the wake of the accident.

No idea he had gotten snubbed. That's a shame. I always enjoyed flying with him.

I don't think he was at ATI, but rather ATA. Really great guy. Phenomenal attitude doesn't even begin to describe it. I feel like I should have been throwing the gear for him. What I don't get is how he's not in our training department yet. He would be an amazing addition to it. We're really lucky to have him.

Enough of this other guy...

Back to making sure Tiiiiiiimaaaaaaaaaaaaay keeps splashing his creds online. Chop-Chop!

You're absolutely right, it was ATA. Thanks

I agree. Finding guys like TomCatter and Air Algerie was interesting and took creativity and work, made easy by information they were providing that could easily be confirmed or not.....and in Air Algerie's case, by the actual photographer of the "around the world" sailing photos he was taking, appearing on here from out of nowhere and calling him out! That was a crazy turn of events indeed! Agree....the JC we all knew and loved back then!

Some of the extremely militant guys on the Martins thing, the ones that seemingly want to hunt him down and have a public execution of the guy in the town square these days.......LONG after he was outed and has to live with the situation in my above quote; those guys remind me of this movie scene. (substitute subject content as appropriate, for the Martins deal) :)

This can also apply to any number of other things, like GoJets, etc. :)

Who was TomCatter and Air Algerie?

Guys who pretended to be something that they were not. Once outted, the condemnation flowed like a tsunami. In AA's case, he was outted the the very person who's pictures he attempted to pass off as his own. A dig through the archives might be worth it.

Just searched Tomcatter and found the claim of being an F14 Tomcat pilot with the US Navy. I really hope it didn't take that long to figure that one out. Usually you can't claim something that specific and get away with it if indeed you are not a USN F14 pilot.

Umm... You posted in the thread @MikeD started about TomCatter misrepresenting himself back in 2005.

MikeD, you have brought up an excellent point. I absolutely agree that misrepresentation is bad.

That having been said, I'm still sticking with this:

If I fly for Mesaba or Pinnacle, and some chick asks me what airline I fly for, I'm saying Northwest Airlines !

Later, if I get caught, I'll start denial mode:

"You thought I said Northwest Airlines? No, I'm pretty sure I said Northwest Airlink... I think I had a sore throat, so at the end, the "k" came out as "es."

What was the Air Algerie one? I can't find that username.

Dude posted a bunch of absolutely amazing pictures from various Algerian Air Force things and then some super cool pictures of an epic sailboat trip around the Med. People though he was pretty cool until the photographer that actually took the pictures showed up.

So he pretended to be a photographer that he was not? That's bad, but not as bad as Tomcatter.

Guys, I wasn't trying to start a s**t-storm over this Tim Martens guy. I found the TalonAir thing totally by accident on base ops.net (military aviation site). I had no idea that he was in any way involved with 3407 until I read Seggy's post.
I like most of you was quite dismayed when I read that he was a total liar, fraud and pretender after the ALPA article. When I saw the TA website with him as a "Proud Pilot" I saw red. I come from a military family going back to WW2. My dad was a combat pilot in WW2 and Korea. My Uncle George was in the 101st AB and went into Normandy on D-Day, later he was severely wounded. I have many other family members that serve or served honorably in our Armed Forces.
TM has shown that he learned very little from his previous experience and wasn't the slightest bit humbles by it or shown remorse. Should we forgive him? Forget? NEVER. Ladies and Gentlemen, he is not one of you...professional, honorable and compassionate human beings. He is lower than low can possibly crawl, and only for his own selfish ego.
Sorry for the rant, but I will not have someone tread upon the honor and dignity of my friends...
