Actually is he admin or mod? I use this tapapad often now, I have to goto the website to do the ignore thing and now I'm back on tapapad and I'm lazy so I won't go back. I clicked on him and the ignore thing doesn't show up. Thought I was crazy so i clicked on the next guy up and it was there. So maybe there's a better way?

No, admins can't be put on ignore, nor can an admin put a user on ignore. We're supposed to keep watch over things and users are expected to adhere to admin/mods' instructions so admins can't be "ignored".

My advice: take a breather. Walk away for a while. No need for page long diatribes, no one is out to get you, and you're getting way too worked up here.

I have to try to get in your shoes a bit here, so I'm going to explain my logic. I'm this super angry (only at MikeD I'm guessing) poster on JC who has a secret/notsosecret vendetta against you, so there has to be a level of obsession or something on my part? I'm off my rocker and therefore I can't be reasoned with or logical about any of this, right? Alright, so illogical angry guy just after you (you're the victim in this case, though I suppose that makes perfect sense to you) and holy crap we don't want to ban jackapes here that everyone can see is a jackape, so I'll continue at this until my heart explodes from anger and in your world you'll live on in a state of nirvana. OK. So when this post is done, I'll just put you on the ignore list.

Don't care what you do with my posts. I post my opinion. If you like it, cool, if you don't, it makes no difference in my day. But your being largely a jerk in your responses isn't something I'm going to just put up with. No one is forcing you to like or do what I post. Take my advice or leave it. Hopefully you're not one of those that thinks the ignore function is stupid on this board, it was very handy for CC for a while and especially for the DATA///Qutch (. .). However, short of leaving (and I'm probably an addict on some level) this makes the most sense. My reasoning would be, if it was a living room and two of us can't get along we just stop talking. It's tough because the stuff you say is so silly sometimes (my pov) that I am complelled to say something. So that's my problem, so when I hit ignore, that removes the problem. They were getting long because of replies. I might be a little long winded but I'm not worked up. And I'm not saying anyone is out to get me, it seems like I should be able to put a poster on ignore but after your explination that makes sense why I can't.

I'm lost why we are getting the history of the FD brotherhood on Timmys thread. I brought it up as relational to being told I dont get to be angry at Timmy anymore because im not a military pilot. I explored the faulty premise of this at length, and instead of judging the merits of that I get a head count of who fought fires. I admit it was a couple pages back but if we want a firefighter thread then someone split off the thread.

As far as all the other stuff in your reply, I was wrapping up and I chose my tone purposefully. I understand it'sfrowned on, but a little frustration isn't unexpected when being ignored and have meaningful discussions being swept away on tangents because the distraction is helpful for MikeD. For example, Seggy had a lot of questions directed at a poster yesterday and they made it clear time and time again he wasnt going to answer anything meaningfully because he didnt have a good reply to important questions. While Seggy might not be 100% correct he had valid points that were completely ignored because it was clear the poster couldn't answer. While I don't think anyone was blowing up on that thread, and I think that was the case here (since Im 50% of the conversation I am at least half right), everyone reading from the outside seems to see it (almost everyone i suppose, stevec in this case). I think theres a lot of frustration when another poster is purposeful ducking because the other party other party has a good point. I chose to attack the method or the logic of Mikes thinking instead of getting bogged down in the ducks and repeating post after post of "you going to answer any of the questions I ask?"

This isn't a formal debate, nor should it be. I don't expect mods to actually moderate and hold the other party to the question asked. That would be silly. I don't want to sound like I'm challenging how the mods choose to act, but as politely as possible I inquire on that whole joke of a debate, you pick out that one post? I absolutely mimicked MikeD s debate style in as absurd a way as possible with the hopes he either became more aware of it or that he was annoyed by it. If that has consequences then I expect to be warned accordingly. You want me to be careful treading, to me that says you wish me to not ever mimic again or act as parody and that seems tough to do. I may not do it to the mods or admins often but I parody with quite a lot of regularity, perhaps my crutch. Im done reading and replying to miked and if the software changes I welcome the chance to add him to the ignore. In the meantime can you clarify what you mean by tread careful? I hope understand that when people disagree at a fundamental level and you are trying to convince another person of your argument, that doing things like anmoying them with their own style can sometimes help them understandt the other person view. Perhaps my execution sucks, but it's a technique that someone used on me decade plus ago during debate and it was masterful in helping me understand why my point wasnt getting across. Obviously im not a pro, but im giving it an honest effort.

In the end debates aren't perfect, and they don't always result with both sides learning something. In between the airplanes debates will happen on here. I dont think we should all up our game and go pro, but is a little leeway with technique too much to ask? Well if I offended you I apologize.

At the risk of offending you again lemme explain a little. The Timmy Martins stuff hit the national media because they could spin it as "pilot pretends to be 9/11 FDNY and is caught" or something to that effect. That seemed like a good opener to jump into the innane and pitch another version of MikeD's logic in another direction. If it had broke because he professed to being a world class ophanage builder in Elmira NY and I'd heard Mike say in the past he built an orphanage in Sun City AZ (in between the private and public course on the north side of course) I would have used that. Sometimes when you've only got a hammer, everything starts looking like a nail.

I admit I take offense, for whatever stupid illogical reason, for being told that I don't get to be mad at Timmy or Gojet or whatever. I sounds like nagging from my end. Once I hit my mid teens I was pretty sure I was allowed to be in charge of my emotions and nothing has really swayed me since. I don't see lot of people dropping dead from holding a grudge so while MikeD's professional health care advice were heard, they ring hollow. When that doesn't work the silly reasoning comes out why I or anyone shouldn't even be allowed to be angry because *insert spew here*. Good Lord, the guy overnight made the regional crowd go from broke unprofessional clowns, all the way down to broke unprofessional clowns who need meds and fast because after compulsive liar comes next years CEO or head of ALPA or Federally elected politican (same cloth). The guy is an embarassment and I haven't had good luck with compulsive liars not becoming compulsive theifs and other criminal activity (like a politican, union leader, or ceo). I'm just painting a wide brush because I was only going to put down CEO and didn't want to offend only one group so it's funnier to offend equally. I don't know how many have had the opportunity of dealing with a compulisive liar, but afterwards your skin might crawl in memory.

This is where you are, and have been, delusional. Nowhere was the bolded area stated, ever. Where that's made up in your head is beyond me, and all on you. The only thing I did was state an opinion. Nobody is ducking your inane accusations, they have all been addressed to you time and again. Again.....point out specifically where you were told "you don't get to be..." Show me where I've told you or given you an instruction to that effect? That is your silly and insecure mind telling you that. Nowhere have you been told that. All that has been made is a suggestion to not be mad, and reasons why; in order to not give Martins power he doesn't deserve. Martins made himself look bad with what he did. I don't see that he made all regional pilots look bad, because he shouldn't have the power to paint all regional pilots as negative, simply due to his own idiocy. (and I doubt many people besides you feel that he's made all regional pilots look bad).

Martins is a disgrace for what he did. No one is arguing that. What is being argued is the waste of time of giving the guy any credit or attention that he doesn't deserve. But you can't seem to get that. Don't want to follow it? Fine. No one is forcing you to. At all.
