Time to bust out the Family Truckster!

Congrats!!! Is this your first baby? Welcome to the world of Daddydom!! It's a wondrous experience that you will never forget from the first moment you learned your baby had been conceived down to when they take their first step, look into your eyes and give you that first sweet smile of recognition and lose their first tooth. Hope everything goes smoothly for your wife.....just be patient and understanding. There's a lot of prep work to be done which can seem a bit overwhelming, normal doubts and worries and her hormones will be a bit chaotic. Participate and be as supportive as possible. It's a big switch adding Mom and Dad roles to the mix in any relationship. Never forget to make her feel special and hat she is still your girl. Do some special spoiling, romantic, indulgent, just for her days/times before the baby comes. Then get ready for the joy and the love!!! Wishing you, Mom and baby, the very best.

Well hot damn then!!! You are in for the ride of your life! I have spoken of this before on here, but I am telling you, nothing will prepare you for the first time you see your child and get to hold them. The instant and overwhelming flood of immediate deep love and bonding that will take place, will surprise, amaze you and make you weak in the knees. It is that profound. It is probably one of the greatest feelings to experience as a human being. Savor every second of it.

Now for the practical....make lists and start hitting up all the relatives, friends and in laws for "stuff". lol Seriously, babies are expensive and they need a ton of baby crap. Baby shower at work, shower at home and get folks to in together on the more expensive items like a decent car seat, crib, etc. Don't worry much about clothes for awhile, which they will outgrow, and spit up on anyways. All they need is diapers, jammies, tee shirts, some socks and a hat or two to keep them warm, little blankies and simple little things. You can deal with outfits later. Much later. Try to get some hand me downs from friends and family and hit some second hand shops. Start doing coupons on line for baby diapers and other baby crap like powder and lotion and start stockpiling. They go through diapers faster than an allergy sufferer and kleenex.

Your life will never be the same. It will be improved a thousand fold. You and your wife will now be a family. Makes me really happy and excited for the two of you, just typing this.

Wow! Already! Man, time has flown by. Damn wonderful isn't it? You will soon meet that little person that you have created, talked to, felt moving and kicking, had doubts about, worried over, been elated over, and waited so long for. Too cool!
