I had to have that 727 schematic memorized and know the items on the hot battery and hot battery transfer bus.....shudder....

I can't believe I once had that many brain cells. Those days are long gone.

New hire training on the 747 at air beach ball was still kinda like that. No schematics, but we had to memorize what is in each bus, despite having very limited ways to control any of that. Thankfully we are slowly being dragged into the 1990s on how we do things.

Yeah, over my career I've see it go from hard to so easy it's almost stupid how little they expect us to know. I'm not complaining, though.

My MD-11 systems class was 4 days...

My ATR systems were 3 weeks. But it was usually two hours a day as the FSDO kept shutting down class questioning things. That was an interesting experience.

I know right! It was a right of passage for us. But once you walked out of that oral you held your head up high and felt like you belonged there.
