Time Building

I think the whole idea of "splitting time" is now even more worthless than it's been in the past. Looking at what current competitive minimums are for jobs now, and what they're likely to be in the near to mid future, why would you want to make yourself any less competitive by filling your logbook full of safety pilot time?

splitting 40 hours to build X-C for the IR because it's expensive for most of us (especially now that there is no financing to be had) to rent a plane, it still makes sense...building time to get a job at the regionals...yeah silly!

For me it would be just adding time to get to Commercial mins at a better rate...... No way would I split time to build a 1000 hours or more

The OP seems fairly urgent to build time. He PM'ed me a few months ago because he's trying to meet some sort of foreign requirement of 1000 hours.

We are all spread out, you might find gold here but you would probably be better off asking your FBO if you can put up a flier.

If you are currently in contact with a CFI, he can probably hook you up with someone who is looking. He should have the pulse on who is looking. I know sometimes I feel like a match maker.
