Three dead after corporate jet crashes in southern Indiana - NY Daily News

A corporate jet traveling to Chicago crashed shortly after taking off from an Indiana airport late Friday morning, killing all three people on board, police said.
Authorities were first alerted to incident shortly before 11:30 a.m by residents living near Memphis, Ind., according to a press release from Indiana State Police. Officers with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a nearby wooded area, where they discovered flaming debris from the crash.

The Clark County Airport, located in Sellersburg, confirmed a Cessna Citation departed for the Chicago Midway Airport around 11:24 a.m.
Three people, including the pilot, were on the plane when it spiraled downward just moments after take-off. Police said there were no survivors.

This aircraft used to be managed by a frequent poster on another popular message board, and he was still very close friends with the owner of the aircraft. Very sad.

Interesting note, this aircraft is one of the first with the Tamarac Active Winglet installation.

Oh, this will be interesting.......

Rumor in the Corporate world is that the Tamaracs had been installed recently and the plane was in IND for an installation inspection. The plane left the Textron Service Center there at IND that same day or the day before.

Hmmm.....

Why write “three people, including the pilot, were on the plane.” Yeah, I imagine the pilot was on the plane

To be fair, souls on board also includes corpses. Also, thanks to idiots like Colton Harris Moore and those kids in the LSA last week, there isn't always a pilot in the plane.

Ahhhhhhhhh I want to say human remains aren’t considered “souls.”
This sounds insensitive, but it’s considered cargo.
