Those damn RJ pilots...

Well it is obvious why the gear was stuck. That damn passenger had his cell phone on, we all know the havoc that is caused will a cell phone on in the cabin.
 
Now, if it had ended badly, it wouldn't be a Delta flight in all the headlines, it would be a "Regional flight."

Good job to the crew. I just hate the media.
 
Definitely a great job by the crew, but it certainly seems like the article was a little bit over dramatic...Is 1 gear still up a seriously life-threatening emergency? It seems like the result would be the same 9 times out of 10. Not trying to take anything away from the crew, as obviously they handled it well and got everyone down safely.

Well there are very low expectations for regional pilots. If we don't crash immediately after takeoff, the destination airport sprays us with firetrucks upon taxi in.

Last week was my 5th arrival without crashing one in on the way and the firetrucks are getting old.
 
I love all the people bashing the FA in the comments section for doing her job before touchdown. It amazes me the number of people who have strong opinions and thoughts about things they know nothing about...
 
Did anyone else laugh at all reading how dramatic that article was?

I remember when Skywest had a landing with no nose-wheel in ONT earlier this year, the media said almost nothing about it. And the outlets that did report it more or less hinted that Regional Jets are death traps. No props to the pilots what so ever.

Oh media, you are so silly.
 
....and it only took 4 sentences to drops Sully's name. Ugh. Wonder when the ASA capts book is coming out for this one.
