You should relook Aiea or Pearl City. Maybe even Kaneohe with the H3 open now. Time there might be quicker then Waikiki. Not sure what transportation is (how good your car is). Sorry you are not experiencing it better.

I have a new car so transportation is not a problem but we got a good deal on the place we are in now so it's cheaper than moving.

Yeah I think if I moved it would have to be Kailua or Kaneohe. I don't like the lee side too much.

Went I went away to college parents moved to Queen Emma Gardens at the base of the Pali and the H1. Easy for my Dad to get to the airport, Mom used TheBus to get to Waikiki to work. Nice area too if you can afford it!
