This one hit close to home...

Flew directly over Gainesville at about 10am this morning, heard the news later on. Terribly sad. Will keep them in my prayers.

I know the pilot/instructor very well - saw him just about every day in the flight cener when I flew the King Air out of GVL - this one does hit close to home.

Prayers tonight that he makes it......

He was one of my students, last I heard he was badly burnt but talking...I'm hoping I get good news tomorrow. He's one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet and was a great student.

Just heard the news that the instructor didn't make it....one of the nicest guys I ever met.

That's terrible news. I have met and talked to him a few times and he was such a genuine and nice guy.

I hate having to post this, but the world lost a great ambassador for aviation tonight.

Kelly Chandler was one of the most upbeat, positive, and genuinely good people I've ever come across. He was a pleasure to have as a private student and I loved watching his progress towards becoming a great instructor. He had a passion for aviation, and life in general that's going to be hard to replace in the Gainesville, GA community and at Lanier Flight Center.

Kelly, I'm going to miss you buddy...:(
