So Envoy Dispatch is currently in contract negotiations and Little Napoleon and Envoy (mis)management thinks so much of their dispatchers that they offer a pay cut on the new proposal.
Envoy is also frustrated with the union's pushback on certain issues and they refuse to pay employees who are taking part in the negotiations. The Union in turn offered to cover the costs however the company declined.

This is who they are.
 
At least half of the last 50 hires at AA were Envoy. It's still true.

Asking for 65k starting salary, 9hr workdays, and shift start changes are another story.

It's absolutely insane that crew scheduling starts higher than dispatchers when you can walk in off the street and get that job. There's no defending that. It's a disgrace.

Meanwhile PSA management reportedly told their dispatchers to not bother applying for AA, because staffing was so bad PSA would tell AA not to hire anyone.

Poor management resulting in staff discontent and manpower issues, and now rising fuel costs. I wonder how this cookie crumbles?
 
My mindset is to get on, get trained, stick around for a few and then look for an opportunity with a major. Is there opportunity to work extra shifts are is it limited to your base schedule? Really eager to get on this time and start working on kicking off my career. My family has roots in the industry so I'm trying to fulfill with my part.

I believe 65k is reasonable considering the current economy, and the high likelihood that hiring will cool for an extensive period of time. Regional dispatchers still have tremendous responsibility, giving them peanuts to put their license on the line has always been distasteful in my eyes. Good for the union for trying to push for positive change in the industry. Imagine if you had to support a family on envoy current pay, or at the very least take care of yourself. Dispatchers should not live paycheck to paycheck or on the border of financial collapse.
