You are correct in the AoA limiter holding 25 AoA. In normal flight, you can sit there holding the stick with full aft pressure and it won't budge, nor will you ever hear tone, other than maybe the gear warning tone < 170 knots with some settling. You'll hear it more commonly going "over the top" without enough airspeed to do so. You can also exceed the limiter with certain configurations of external stores, and perhaps second most commonly, by "assaulting the limiters", i.e. max roll combined with max AoA and maybe a little yaw rate. In a really heinous version of the "too slow to go over the top" scenario, you can get the thing into a "deep stall" where the stabs don't have the authority to allow for recovery. It happens more like in the 50-60 AoA range, generally induced by getting stuck really nose high with 100 knots or less airspeed. In that case, simple physics have simply overcome the limiter. The scenario in the video is a little uncommon, i.e. tone at such high airspeed. With that being said, I believe the limiter has reduced values at high airspeed ~ something like 15 AoA up in the 500+ knot range, so not totally unreasonable to think he might have exceeded that by really "snatching" on the G's. Last thing I'll say is that some of this conjecture wrt the limiter is based on a Code One article Joe Bill Dryden wrote back in the early 1980's. Actual written data on it in the -1 is, based on my casual perusal last night, pretty limited in scope and doesn't really spell out the full extent of the FLCS laws (unlike the Hornet/Super Hornet NATOPS which I think does a bit better job). Anyway, I digress…..

Thank you for the awesome Viper info sir. I think I do have a non-USAF full -1 in PDF so I'll read up a bit on it too, about the AoA limiter and the high speed conditions. The PC sim we got does simulate this somewhat, being too slow over the top and you fall out of the sky like a leaf, jet oscillates around, the MPO switch and all that... I'm assuming deep stall recovery is a B-Course task off the bat.

Never went through AF B-course, just did our in house Navy program, so I can't say authoritatively. However I know that Edwards runs a departure/OCF training/exposure program for the CAF where the jets are configured and waivered for intentional departures, and in said course, folks get to explore the deep stall and OCF recovery. In the F/A-18 A-D FRS, we did a dedicated OCF flight (it has in more recent years apparently expanded to the E/F side too, which didn't do it during my timeframe), which was pretty cool. That being said, the Hornet is a lot more honest in a departure scenario than a Viper is, so I don't know if they let the FTU's do it. The EDW hops require very specific CG's and associated fuel balance, and a few other odds and ends to mitigate the very real potential of not recovering. We never really had that in the Hornet, you just went up without a bunch of helmet bag stuff that could fly around and jam controls, and basically ham fisted it as badly and violently as anyone could possibly do………..zero airspeed tailslides, full cross controlled, with max AB on the pro-spin side, idle on the other. It was a pretty neat experience.
 
Here at Nellis, I can't tell if the Hogs are taxiing or taking off sometimes - all seems to be at the same speed.

Funny you mention, as the ONLY thing the Hog does fast, is taxi.

One thing the Hog doesn't have, although there was talk of a retrofit, is a parking brake. Even at idle, the Hog would just accelerate down the taxiway for some reason, to where you found yourself riding the brakes practically.
 
Sounds like a slick viper……..you are constantly riding the brakes trying to stay below 30+ knots while at idle. Does have a parking brake, but it is common procedure to not use them post landing (or takeoff abort for that matter), lest you melt fuze plugs.
 
Hog pilots wouldn't have to worry about a G-Loc situation as much I'd assume. What's the A-10 frame designed to sustain ?
