Things to be aware of during a corporate interview?

I have a corporate interview coming up for a company looking to start a flight department. As I'm not in the "part 91" world - what sort of thing should I ask about? Thanks.
 
PIC type rating?
Will you be a co-captain or SIC with a PIC type?
Flying hours/year.
What is the average mission.
Training contract
What is the future of this flight department? Department goals?
What can you tell me about the owner.

Interview them as much as they are interviewing you. Like everything in aviation, corporate can be great or it can be a bag of crap. Don't be afraid to ask the questions you and your family need to know before making a decision to commit if offered a position.
 
I would stuff that you'd ask any company. 401K, health insurane, time off, how's the schedule?

I'm really excited to see all the movement going on with all the JC members!
 
Do not ask about a training contract unless they mention it first. No need to put bright ideas in their head.

Be yourself, or at least don't be "that guy". If it's a small dept. be the guy some one wants to hang out with for four days in BFE with nothing to do. If there's any hint the the guy you'll be flying with is "that guy" or the chief pilot is, run. I've been there and it sucks. You might think "awwwww he's not too bad, I'll get used to it". You won't, in a month you'll want to eat a shotgun for breakfast. So make sure it's a good fit on both sides of the table. Good luck!

There is so much truth in this its almost scary.

And if they are looking to Start a flight department, do they have an aircraft? are you going to be expected to help with setting up the dept? basically what's your role going to be before things get under way, or do you come into the picture once they do.
 
I already talked to you about this, but if you're managing the aircraft you've got to be very careful that it doesn't turn into something where you're living at the office.
 
Establish duties and responsibilities. What are yours going to be, and what's the compensation? It is real easy to be helpful to get yourself in the door, then next thing you know you're driving the boss's car full of their friends to some function while you were supposed to be home with your family. That just happened to a friend of mine.
