I just saw this thing today while on the Harbor Visual approach to Portland ME. It was getting towed into the port, probably out doing sea trials and what-not.

It's by far the largest nondescript thing I've ever seen. Just a big grey thing in the water with lots of weird shapes. If it weren't for the tug boats giving it some scale I would have thought it was a surfaced sub based on the profile. I suppose that's the idea though...

They also said it's stealth properties gave it away too. The waves would break on the hull but create a blank space like a donut that would cause people to be suspicious and take a look most likely anyways. They kept it in the floating dry dock that they built the "claw" for the glomar explorer I believe.
Use to chase this thing around San Diego Bay when I flew for TV. Pretty impressive..
