The summer, heat and some of y'alls comportment

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Colonial English was much closer to the newer English English than present day Queen's English is due to the common folk adopting the aristocratic accent.

Correct! It always annoys me when I watch Revolutionary War movies and the Red Coats are speaking modern queen's English. They spoke like people from Ohio!

I believe actually that the northern Virginia dialect is as close to the queens English as it gets. I heard a linguist on NPR one time demonstrating them, basically the NoVa dialect is the exact same as British except slowed down.
I thought that was from Tangiers Island VA? Although when I was there, I missed hearing the dialect and only heard the bugs coming after me..

Autothrust Blue suggested I was a product of "Riddle Education." While not wanting to jump into THAT controversy, I am a proud Nittany Lion, a product of a Penn State education.

Where, at the time, that great University was primarily served from Black Moshannon airport, (PSB, now re-named Mid-State Regional Airport) by 4 Allegheny C-580s a day, two each way. It is surrounded by a State Forest and a State Park. A follow-me jeep roared up and down the runway, blowing its horn to chase the deer back into the woods, as the Convairs turned final. PSU is some 20 miles east, always provided more than 75% of the traffic, and is now served by three commuter carriers through University Park airport (SCE), with more than a dozen flights a day.

Y'all. I was also privileged to live in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and would often pass a bulbous water-tower (God's door-knob?) near CVG and the regional Florence Mall. The typography on it was such that at Interstate speeds, I could never decide if it was a 'Y' or an 'M.'

"Yankee" is not the suffix to the word "damn."

"Hey Y'all" :)

Yes it was, it was just a different VH. There are some decent songs during the Van Hagar years. But, I still say, Dave or the grave. ;)

Welp. I just found someone who has horrible taste in music. The worst thing to ever happen to music, is Van Hagar.

Well, if Ed and Al and Mike were there and Ed wrote the music for that entire catalog during the Sam years, what are we suppose to call them? Winger?

So, that being said, you're saying that after the 1984 album, Eddie Van Halen wrote crap music? If I remember, Dave's career went into the toilet after he left VH. So, what is the argument? Dave was VH and Ed/Al/Mike were sideline players, or Ed couldn't write good music after Dave? Can't see how Sam made VH horrible when all of their albums went number 1.

Guess Ed musicianship went to crap because of Sammy. Damn him..... ;)
