The shortest pilot you've ever met

One of the APD's at Colgan on the Saab is only like 5'. I don't think he can open the main cabin door from the outside but he's doing fine. I don't think it would start to be a problem until you're below 4'11".

but look on the other side, it benefits the instructor during instrument training. dont have to worry about student pilot peeking outside.

during my PVT training, one of my classmates had a really hard time adjusting to the diamond DA-40. the room between his top of the head and canopy was just about 1/2 inch to 1 inch. not sure of his exact height but he was def no shorter than 6'1"

I'm just shy of 6'5 and I flew with a fellow member from KLNK to KOSH in a cessna 140. It was tight (really tight) but I was able to keep my knees out of the way of the controls well enough. It's not about how tall you are, it's about how you are willing to cram yourself into the plane!

I believe he is ORD based. Nice guy. I would see him frequently in the E and Fs
