The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Profession

Re: The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Professio

Americans aversion to sex is crazy.

Go to Europe for a week.

Seriously, go to Europe for week. If you don't get some, prepare for a life of abstinence in the States. Might as well join the clergy.

Shoot, go to the Caribbean for a week as well:D

Repression causes perversion.

Correcto!

Usually the guy who you have to worry the most about is the guy who preaches to you about how virtuous he is over the Atlantic, has a few too many beers and you end up asking the third guy, "Hey, I'm not going to bail this guy out, are you?"

For where? Best Buy?

Ahh, the power of having a union. This guy will most likely keep his job and the union will fight for him. He didn't show up to his report time intoxicated. Lucky for him that he did get caught strolling for beaver in the woods.

He was fired.

Re: The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Professio

So I am sitting with my wife and I show her the paper and say

"Hey honey--look, now that looks like a fun job".

She clocked me........

:(

Re: The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Professio

Unless they have proof that he was drinking within the 8 or 12 hour time limit, he'll get his job back.

I talked to a buddy of his in the terminal yesterday and he said the guy is being brought up on felony charges for breaking into a car (while they were in the woods). Yes, I'm going off what his buddy said, but I'm sure he knows more about the situation than the media.

Not sure what PCL policy is on arrests, but I know they've fired for a lot less. Don't get me wrong, I wish the guy the best of luck and hope he gets his job back. But with PCL, I don't see that happening.

Yeah, we've had guys get sacked for a lot less, but ya know what? They normally get their jobs back IF they want it. A lot of those guys say "No thanks, but I'll take the cash settlement instead." PCL is a very punishment oriented company it seems most of the time. Rather than say "Hey, we need everyone to work together to make the company better" they'll send out a memo threatening people with "disciplinary action up to and including termination" for calling in sick on Super Bowl Sunday.

Re: The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Professio

FYI.... he hasn't been fired (yet) - they've both just been suspended pending the outcome of an internal investigation.... read that to mean Pinnacle will probably fire them it just hasn't happened yet.

Re: The Quagmire Award for Excellence in the Pilot Professio

Still think is it's a shame this makes the news just because of their occupations. Even if they were school teachers we wouldn't be hearing about it.
