The Passing of a Pioneer

Got the email today. Sad to see a pioneer pass away but very, very, very thankful for his push in aviation.

To me he is another founding father.
 
Must not have been an easy ride once he was hired ... that would be rough, going to work for a company that doesn't want you there.
 
Sadly, it takes death for me to learn of a great aviation pioneer. Despite that, the brief wikipedia article leaves me impressed and interested to learn more about him and his important accomplishments.

To a great aviator, RIP.
 
On top of the racial barrier I thought it was pretty cool that he resigned from a job over a lack of adequate equipment. This according to the Wiki article.
Seems like an all around good guy.
