The Official "Waiting For FOL From LA PEPC" Thread

i talked to br the other day she said that she has not recieved any word on the hiring freeze. from the way that its loooking we wont be goin until the next fiscal year which starts in october.
 
HR replied to me today and advised that it looked like October 2009 at the soonest for a class date. That's also consistant with what they prepped me for at the PEPC and what the Mgr. said at the tower I was assigned.
 
hey devin, who is your HR. REP? I have been hearing sept as the earliest. What could possible take this long. its been 4 weeks since the Pepc and still no official academy date.
 
My HR person is B.R. Seems like she handles central region states like Arkansas. From what I understand, There are a ton of us that are hired (tenatively) and they're hiring people faster than they can train them. This hiring process is still fairly new to them, I think they're just working the kinks out and we're in a "kink" I guess I can't complain a whole lot though, I feel fortunate that I was selected!
 
Who else here is waiting for an FOL from the LA PEPC, and if so what facility? I went to the LA PEPC and am yet to receive an FOL which normally would not bother me, but a few other people going to my same facility have, and now some people from the February are getting a class date. I have not called my HR because I did not want to bother them, but I will have to if I don’t hear anything by Friday because I did not to my knowledge have any issues with my clearance or anything at the PEPC, but the lack of contact is getting weird.
 
moulds u better check to make sure that your facility is not one on a hiring freeze. i attended the january la pepc and MDW is part of the freeze so nothing until october for me which sucks but i'm hanging in there lets hope its worth the wait.
 
I'm PHL and went to the LA pepc. Still waiting on an academy date. Moulds I would call your rep. They told us 3-4 weeks and we are past that point. We should all have our dates by now.
 
I'm assigned to FSM- Arkansas and my references just started getting letters today... FSM is supposedly affected by the hiring delays. There are 3 of us on J.C. that have just got TOL's for FSM and we were all told that it would be October 2009 or later...
 
Does anyone know what the relationship is between 'hiring freeze' and a delay to the next fiscal year? If your facility is 'frozen,' does that also mean that you're waiting until October, or are only some of the freeze-ees stuck waiting until then?
 
I was at LA PEPC Jan 28th. I just got my medical clearance approved today 3/27. I had some blood pressure issued to work through. Anyway... I hope I get a FOL soon.. I'll take any date, even If I only had 1 or 2 days notice!

Im thinkin its gonna be a while though...
 
Did anyone else need to re-take the drug test? I recieved a "TOL" date of 8/20 for OKC, but needed to re-take the drug test since its after 6 months from my original before the FOL is issued. I took the drug test this week so am hoping for a FOL soon.

Is your class date still unknown? I was told I had a spot in the August 20th class, but needed to retake the drug test. I took the test as soon as possible becasue I have to so I could receive the official FOL, and if I waited to long I could see them putting someone else in my projected seat in the 8/20 class.
 
Was anyone else called today by their HR rep and offered an instant academy date to transfer to a deferent tower? I was but Im going to stick with my orginal TOL tower.
 
they offered rockford tower or Rock island quad cities tower, but their just to far away from me so im fine with waiting, plus im still working on my masters degree anyway so im not in that big of a rush.
 
she also said that the ATO organization is doing some restructuring, so it soundes like their trying to getting people into facilities faster, which is good for all of us.
