The New JetBlue Uniforms

JetBlue is remaking itself in more ways than one: Besides its bid for business travelers with the coming launch of business class suites in its transcontinental flights, it is also going for a redesign of its crews’ uniforms, both slated for launch next year during the Spring.

The uniforms are being designed by Michael Schwarz of legendary uniform design brand Stan Herman, who did McDonald’s, Fedex, Avis, and multiple hotels and casinos. Stan Herman also did JetBlue’s original uniforms twelve years ago.

And after a sneak peek earlier this year, it is now testing out the uniforms with its crew, and made a video out of it, embedded below.

The uniform design is not yet finished completely, for now being tested with live crews for the first time, and will be refined based on feedback.

A chance to do away with the blue pilot shirts, will they do it?

From what they have on display at OSC and the uniform store it doesn't look like it. Instead it looks more modern and professional then the precious design. I'm excited for the uniforms for my position, we get these nice looking vests with a glossy orange back half and a navy blue front half, it looks really classy.

I think it's risky/cool that JetBlue is adding color
to not only their uniforms but also to the a321 tail design (green) and the use of the word "mint" to describe their take on a front of cabin experience.

Rumor is that the New American is going the double breasted route as well, although they are using some fashion designer to do them.

I have heard this. Very bad news. Think derg is missing the boat (except for the white tennis shoes)
The best pilot uniform I have seen is a buddy in Seattle that flys for a private family. Beaver on floats and a CJ. Shorts, flip flops and a Hawaiian T-shirt. Win.

I hope they do something! Yesterday I was in Dallas at the end of the day. I saw two flight crews leaving the terminal area as I was entering. One crew was well dressed and crisp. Really shockingly crisp. The other looked like slobs with shirt tails hanging. As I got closer I saw one crew was USAirways and one was Spirit (they share the same area). When I got onto my airplane I was greeted by a crew that looked like the latter of the two I encountered while entering the area of the terminal.

Guess which was which.
