The Meridian doesn't like hitting things.

Wow. That's a lot of damage there. At least it didn't hit the windscreen directly. Did it get the prop at all or did it make it through?

Ya there was some blood and muck on the blade. I didnt know this until recently but the right windscreen is plexiglass, the left is glass with heaters embedded. So if it would have hit the right side it would have gone through I'm sure.

Probably told the story before, but when I was at FLX a guy took a duck through the pilot's side doing redline in the descent. Came through the windscreen, through the cargo compartment, and out the back window and wound up with bits hung around the tail. The guy was apparently leaning over to take a bite of his eggroll. The story goes that he landed, took his scale and ID to the appropriate authority, and walked away. The half-eaten eggroll was still sitting there getting cold when I got in. If you ever see 2045U (I think) sitting on a ramp, go check out the cowl...it has a nice duck "kill marking".

A guy who posts here occasionally was on a checkride when one came through the right side and directly into the chief pilot's face. The CP was scratched up pretty bad, but reportedly had the presence of mind to tell the guy that he passed.

Could be worse! Bet ya ride that seat low for a while...

During my 727 engineer years, on a night arrival into BNA about a decade ago, one of the flight attendants was in the cockpit yakking about lord knows what and then "!!!!!WHAPPP!!!!!!!"

I flip the dome light on and apparent a bird struck the rain repellant nozzle, split into two pieces, half was still lodged under the wiper but blood EVERYWHERE.

She starts screaming like that scene from "Psycho".

The captain made some comment like "Dang. Them birds sure got a lotta (crap) in 'em!"

She says, "Oh my GAAAAAWD! Is that bird dead?"

Silence.

So when a bird gets hit really hard, what does he have flying around his head? Birds?

The walls are too thin here in the hotel to keep laughing like this, bro! :)

I'll help you out, it's N2145U. It has a goose marking on the left front cowl and it has taken three bird strikes total I have found out. Two geese and that duck.

The CP at the time had the initials MH right? If so he took another bird strike right before you came back to FLX. He was doing training in the Baron and they took a stork I believe. Some rather large bird. He went unscathed that time.

To the OP, sorry for the damage, hope it gets fixed quickly.

I believe he's an FAA inspector at the Orlando FSDO now.
