The legend of the Jolly Rogers Skull and Crossbones...

Back in the dark ages when I was a Navy Pilot we had the only official squadron insignia that featured the female form. The inspiration for the 'Batgirl' was some B-movie pin-up girl from the '40s whose name escapes me now.

....And then the 'Tailhook' incident occured and we were deemed offensive and ended up with this generic looking thing:

The best pain job ever. I saw this jet fly at an airshow at NAS Pt Mugu, in 1986 or 1987 as I recall. The Blues could not fly due to low hanging clouds, the audience was not happy so the playboy Phantom was launched and it did one hell of a high speed pass. Broke the sound barrier in front of the crowd. Just awesome.

Yeah, that's your winner. I guess they were disestablished before they could yank their bunny like they did to VMAQ-2.

Not sure if it's the same exact airframe, but there's an F-4 in the Boneyard at DMA with this livery. I drive by it all the time. Cool bird.
