The joys of not living in the dorms

yeah, you really do miss out on a lot of fun living in the dorms. I think everybody should experience it for at least a year or two, but after that, when you actually have to study for stuff its nice to be somewhere else. Teaches you how to function when you're so close to other people all the time, as well as you learn to put up with idiots. But then I met most of my friends here while living in the dorms, so that's probably the best part.
 
I thought the dorms were ok, you learn how to be friend with people because you have to, not because you want too. Plus the whole roomate situation was horrible. I enjoy having my own kitchen but I do miss easy access to socalization. It has it's plus's and minus's.
 
Dorms are a great freshman start, but once you leave you know coming back is a big mistake. I say having your own house or apt rocks! I made the mistake of moving in after I lived in an apt. Imagine fitting all that stuff in a double room as a single. Hehe, that room took forever to empty.
 
pretty much agreed. dorms for the first year is fine, anything beyond that... uhm, its kinda like someone who cant move out of their parents house.

theres a lot better things in having your own apartment, or house (if you like having a yard and more privacy and such)

you can cook steak in the dorms. we did it several times in bek hall when i was a freshman. we'd go to leever's at 3am and get a bunch of soon-to-expire steak and cook the **** out of it. yum.

haha I'd do the same thing too... i'd get an indoor grill and cook 'em up!
