The hardest part of being a corporate pilot...

Further up the thread I mentioned the types of hotels USAir put us in back in the day. They weren't the nicest places around. Sounds like things have changed since then so my joke is less applicable.

By the way, the rate code for travel industry on the Marriott site is TVL and the code for NetJets is EJA.

Both work and offer good rates, but I've been asked to see my travel industry credentials and/or my NetJets ID. (Of which I had neither) Wasn't turned away, but it was embarrassing!

Get one of these to show at the hotels that ask. Most international handlers also offer their version. One nice thing about working for a hotel company I do not have your problem.

Yeah, I've never met a rich person who isn't frugal, and doesn't love pinching pennies.

My boss man is wise with his money, but has no problem with us sleeping comfortably and eating well. Then again, we don't abuse the privileged if there's a reasonable alternative to the $250/night room. And him being a health nut, he knows you don't find a healthy meal in a vacation spot for less than $30.

But, I know I'm one of the lucky ones.

My boss is pretty relaxed when it comes to hotel rooms and where I stay. I've never heard him bring up anything about where I stay. I also haven't gone crazy on expensive rooms. 220/ night was the highest. When I do want to stay somewhere nice, we land and he asks where I'm staying. I just tell him wherever you're staying. Seems to work :)

I've only been asked on the TVL code once, and I just showed them my certificate. Didn't know the netjets code, but ive also used a general dynamics code, GDL if I remember correctly. All they did was ask what company I worked for.

Marriott/Hilton properties for us. Expensed a $75 dinner last week. I give top notch service and receive the same in return.
