The FAA actually being efficient....

The rate of pilot certification has reduced quite a bit, it makes sense that they'd be quicker to go through the list now.

Passed the CFII on may 5 got the card on may 18. When I did my PPL in 2005 it was more like 3 months even with iacra.

Heh, efficient.. Im still thinking they are a few decades behind by not having a photo with their (government) ID.. just a thought.

I'm thinking due the ecomony, less people are flying. Therefore, they have less applications to process.

Mine took two weeks as well to come. It takes rougly two months.

It just means that in a few years, all of us will be able to get jobs at any airline you choose. No pilots in the pipeline...no pilots to hire in 2-3 years. :)

Also take into account how many pilots are leaving aviation. I have heard of a lot of furloughed guys going back to school for non aviation careers. There is still a large number of people in the system about to retire. I agree, in a couple years, hiring will look very nice for those with the right time.

I took my ATP ride on April 24th, still waiting on the permanent. Not even updated yet in the online FAA Airman database. My new CFI certificate only took 12 days.... mmm...
