The "Draper One Arrival" apparently shut down

Sad, and so easily preventable. I knew the F-14 crew that lost it taking off from Nashville, similar circumstances, relatives assembled to watch his high performance take-off and vertical (for awhile) ascent,

People don't realize that flying an airplane the way it's supposed to be flown is usually impressive enough to non pilots. There really isn't much of a need to be doing anything crazy.

Yeah so as I posted above, I don't see what's so shocking about being at 1500' 4 miles from the airport.

I remember being briefed on this accident at Moody as a young pup. This one always bothered me:

There's enough fun to be had within rules/regs/op-specs... no need to color outside the lines for basic point A to point B flying.

'04? Damn....you are a young pup! :D

Yeah these guys, especially when their bar receipt from the night before........well, a few hours before, was uncovered.

Were any of the airplanes that he flew equipped with a FOQA data recorder? If this approach strategy was routine for that Captain, I'm just curious how this wasn't discovered sooner.

Because previously he was 1500 or so which is not overly low (in fact I'm surprised anyone cared if that's all it was)

Ah. I understand. The last time I was in SBY I did a normal approach, if I knew about this, I should have buzzed his house too.
