the delays, they keep stacking up...

So I find out last week that my company wants me to move to Florida or NY. Okay, this all sounds good except...

...there is no relocation package. None. No help with the house, no moving expenses. I'm out of a job at the end of the year if I don't move. Great.

Which means I have until the end of the year to find a job. Which also means that I may end up tapping into savings, (read that as flight training funds) etc. to survive while finding another job if I don't move by the end of the year.

Shotgunning the resume' all over the place, have one or two leads at the moment. Just so bloody frustrating because I want to get airborne and can't yet...are there any non-pilot-wannabes here who would help me hoist a beer in the DFW area some night? I figure misery loves company...

Hey Billy,
I feel your pain. My original goal of April-May to quit and head to ATP has been postponed to August now. I have not been put in the position you are at my current job, but sometimes I wish I was. Even if I did not have dreams of being a pilot, I would leave this job. It is miserable. Yet, to get to training fastest, it is best for me to stay on; kind of stuck and I hate that too.

I'd come to DFW and hoist a beer with you, but that is gas money, and bar money for that matter. Since I started saving every little penny, the wife and I are on an $800/month budget for Gas, Food, etc. My car hasn't gone 2500 miles in the last 5 months, and I haven't been out for a beer in almost as long.

Hey but if your buying!!! hehe....come on down to Temple.

Also, let me know what line of business you are in. Maybe I can help.

Thanks, man.

I work in telecom.

I've got a couple of promising leads right now, one of which would be AWESOME if it comes through. Don't wanna jinx it though, so we'll see what happens.

It's just nice cool/cold weather here, and it would be wonderful to get up in the sky.

Yeah I hear ya. I would love to get up right now, but penny pinching will not allow. When I first started flying in High School, I loved flying on a cold clear winter day in upstate NY. The plane felt like it had the power of a fighter jet, and the ride was smooth as glass.

I think he's something with computers. I'd check my PM box because we've talked about it but i accidentally deleted them one day :(
