I've called around because there are a few art pieces I want to make out of aircraft parts, specifically jet transport parts. The few salvage places that will even talk to you have been besieged by home simulator builders, so some stuff they know they can price outrageously.

Really when it comes down to it, this stuff on the Boeing Custom store is CHEAP. And I'm serious when i say that.

Google MOTOART and see how expensive expensive really IS!

Speaking of, is there a relatively affordable way (read close to free) of getting legit old instruments (IE gyros, altimeters, etc). I don't care about age, but I'd like a few to put into a wood working project. I imagine un-servicable ones have to be somewhere?

Aircraft parts are expensive for a reason, unserviceable parts should be rendered useless by whatever means available. Bogus parts are a real problem.
