The big arrival in Phoenix

I don't miss the weather, that's for damn sure.

However I do predict that the wife and I will soon suffer from Chinese food deprivation :)

I want to hear how yours go in a little bit! Keep me posted.

And good pizza, too!!!

Ugh. I try to put it out of my mind. I haven't even put my house on the market yet, OR started packing -- and I should be moving by August 1.. That's me -- ALWAYS ahead of the curve. :banghead:

Hey folks.....was doing a "Phoenix" search and just saw this thread. There's a chance I will be moving to Phoenix by November and just wanted to say howdy.

I've been trying to figure out a game plan for awhile now, but I think I have finally decided that I am going to leave the current job around Oct. 1 and head to Phoenix. I plan on continuing flying at an FBO and also considering looking for local law enforcement jobs at the same time beginning at that time. I can't apply to those until October 15th (because i'm an idiot). So I figure I will continue my flying (working on PPL right now) at an FBO while applying to local PD's and hopefully I will figure out if I want to be a cop or pilot sometime in between there! I think I will have about $60K saved up by then, and I originally wanted to go to ATP, but I think I will save a lot of money by just busting my hump at an FBO.

I want to live in the East Valley. Anyone know of a good FBO? I also want to live very close to the FBO (so I don't spend a ton of bones on gas). Any recommendations as far as areas, apartments, and FBOs would be greatly appreciated!

I hope this isn't considered "hijacking" a thread, and if it is, I am very sorry! I love Phoenix and can't wait to make the move!

Live by Falcon Field, Chandle or Williams Gateway. All have good FBO's and the air traffic is reasonable.

You picked the right time of the year to move. August is a bit warm here.:laff:

An early welcome to Phoenix.

Thanks for the info! If this winter is anything like last winter, Denver starts getting a bit cool, so it'll be a perfect transition. :D

My current airport is Class D airspace, but class B is all around. I love the busy airspace! :nana2:

I live on 29th St and Thomas, don't move here. Unless you like gun shots every night and police helicopters. But the airport is close. Going 2 blocks and turning the direct opposite is correct. I live a few mile from the Biltmore which is super nice. But I'm heading back to the beach. Can't take it anymore plus its to hot.
