The best part of being an Airline Pilot In your Opinion?

Oh is it? And how did you find out about it?

I agree that TS is common knowledge, but the letter designations afterwards are CERTAINLY NOT "public domain" !!!

PM'd you - figured it would be more appropriate.

E3’s are the backbone of the Navy.
Since you love aviation why not become an Airman. I spent two years active as a Plane Captain on F-14 (VF-154 Black Knights) and six years inactive reserves. Since your enlisted working on the flight deck of an Aircraft carrier is the second coolest job in the Navy, the first of course would be a Navy Seal.

  1. See great sunsets / sunrises
  2. 2 Weeks off a month
  3. St Elmo's Fire
  4. Flying a Classic Boeing
  5. Watching T'Storms at night (what a light show)
  6. Staying at only the "best" hotels :sarcasm:

Hola Tico, tuanis mae! :D

hey...I miss eating Gallo Pinto and salsa Lizano in the morning :(

Dude, you know what I miss from SAN? Fish tacos!

People look at me like I'm crazy when I talk about them. The last meal I had in SAN during my little trip there was at the PB Bar and Grille and I had a beer and fish tacos. I had to -- I can't find them here!

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Fish Tacos? Never thought i'd hear such a thing. How do they taste?

By the way its SJO.

All the peanuts you can eat.

The schedule is pretty nice once you get senior enough. I'm home way too much to tell you the truth....15 days off with commutable trips and still flying 100 hours per months (by choice).

I've been trying to find a second job to occupy my spare time, but I think I'll put that off as football season is rapidly approaching.

1. The view

2. Breaking out on top of the layer on the way to FL410

3. The view

4. Travel benefits

5. When you're off - you're off (mostly).

6. The view.

I spent 12 years in either a cubical or an office during my days as a paralegal and in those 12 years, the view was NEVER as nice as it is from the pointy end. :D

Just my take on the sitch.

How often do you can you get the 700 up to FL410. Though certified for four-one-zero I heard it took an act of god smiling on you and a combination of things in place all at the right time to get them up that high.

Weight,temperature,winds,fuel,etc.

Or maybe that was only for the 200 series.

Fish tacos are the bomb diggity. Trust me. Throw a little tomatillo salsa on that puppy and add a frosty cerveza, it's life changing.

Pretty often, actually. I've been flying the 700 for roughly 3+ months and I've been up to FL410 three times.

It takes a combination of weight (big factor), and temp. We have charts on the deck that let us determine if we can go on up to 410 to go fast and conserve fuel.

That said - we never file for FL410.

As for the 200 - a buddy of mine flies one for Air Wisc. and he's told me that they don't go up that high (410).

This isnt meant to be a rip on Pinnacle, but there are a couple of guys who aren't around anymore that could have told you that the 200 can go to FL410. :(

Which is a very good reason to not go up there with the -200 series.
