The Aviator College

Hey guys. Ive decided to give Aviator College, (Ari Ben Aviator + Indian River State College) a chance. Ive researched there facilities, Courses, etc etc, I'll be staying at the dorms. Hopefully if I ever get an approved Student Loan I will start this upcomming January 5th. Ive spoken with students (Who where part of Ari ben Aviator the academy) about the "campus" and they say its great as far as housing goes, the aircraft are bareable, and the instructors are good.

I wont make assumptions, and I wont make any great expectations. The program im enrolling in is a 2 year program (That takes less then two years to complete.) for an AS in Aeronautical Science. Im not excited about getting a degree in Aviation but the Gen Ed Classes are mainly what its worth for.

Heres the interesting part, As per a phone conversation with an enrollment officer - They garuntee a Paid internship as a CFI durring your 4th/5th semesters at the school. They amount is between 15$-20$ p/hr, although I'll probrably enjoy the time built from that, and I am looking into whether or not they offer MEI internships as well.

All in all, after reading countless articles and financial analytical I believe this is a good time to put all efforts towards "getting there", and I think Aviator College will be able to help me "get there".

I'll post more {reports} through my time there, wish me luck?

I'm at Aviator right now starting my instrument training. PM with any questions you got. It's an ok flight school. Cheaper then ATP and flight safety academy. The college program is a good way to get all your ratings and a degree done in one shot.

15 to 20 an hour, back in my day it was only 10-15. I did get to drive the fuel truck for 10/hour though, grocery money.

The whole "too or not too" get a aviation degree has been done ad nauseum.

The fact is, your not going to get loan for a vocational (non-degree) education in aviation, so the best way to do it is going to be an aviation degree at an accredited school.

The Aviator College is accredited and a title 4 school under the Department of Education. That means Federal student loan help not just private loans.

I'm also a current student at Aviator.... be back next week guys, see ya then.

Not sure I like the insinuation.... I give "MY" opinions and the facts as I know them, you've read them. Plus, I put my real name on what I say, which is far more than 99% of the of the folks on this forum can say...Gonzo.

As far as working for Mike, I drive the Bus on occasion and do airport pickups, and on occasional weekends I've helped out refinishing his sailboat, but I don't get paid for that, Its a break from studying and I enjoy working on it.

The fact that I help out for grocery money and extra cash has no bearing on my opinions and Mike knows that.

And, Before you pass it off to kissing up to Mike just to get a flight instructor job..... as soon as I'm done here, I'm going home to Texas and Mike knows that too.

Bill don't read into the question, it was just that a question. Thank you for answering the question. It is just Mike has in the past made people working for him post stuff or risk their jobs. Maybe when you post you might want to add you also work at the school.

PS - I would say 70%-80% of the active members know my real name.

Hi guys - also thinking of Aviator for the full pro pilot course - and hoping you might respond to my questions: how are the planes at the moment? Is the enrollment high, e.g. a high ratio of students to plane might slow down progress?
