Good times, good thread.
@Polar742

Looks like the puppy is growing fast!!! They are best buddies already. I think it's marvelous when kids have dogs to grow up with. Really a cute pair those two. Your son is just adorable. Love me some babies! Besides a woman, nothing better than holding a baby in your arms. Hell, might even be as good. I am on the campaign big time for more grandbabies. lol

The cute baby and dog are taking this thread onto a whole new direction. We need to get it back on track to compete with the Desert Jet thread.

Considering the Captain and Jumpseat Coordinator were on union organizing committees to prevent an alter ego (which GoJets is) situation at Colgan, nothing was done except remind the Captain of his authority.

So someone wanted to flex their little wee wee power and denied a guy getting a ride to/from work? Score. When it comes to jumpseating, karma is a beotch and one day the guy who denied him will face a similar situation when asking for a ride and the CA is someone he personally burned.

Have fun with your girlie union games.

As I learned, when it comes to regionals, the flying doesn't belong to anybody except mainline. Thinking otherwise just leads to heartaches and/or headaches. Hulas offered the 70 seaters to TSA pilots at a certain wage the TSA MEC deemed unacceptable. Hulas formed GoJets. If you take a stand, make sure you have something to stand on. Unfortunately the TSA MEC didn't have much.

And don't even get me started on the severe irony of a Colgan pilot trying to deny a jumpseat to a GoJet pilot. Remember when Colgan was non-union and got those Qs from money made off the backs from union 9E pilots, new Q400 deliveries for non-union Colgan while ALPA-9E was downgrading and displacing as Colgan was upgrading 1500 hr pilots?

How can you say mainline owns the flying then say TSA's CEO "offered" them the flying?

From what it sounds like TSA had the jets, Hulas just pulled a dick move to screw labor.

Another problem. A TA went out to vote and ended with a strong "No" vote from the pilots. The MEC actually worked with management and management left after the first vote. The MEC wanted to go back to the table.

I mean the general flying of regional airlines is owned by their mainline carrier. No regional airline can really say, "that's our flying!" Mainline offered Hulas the flying for the -700s. If it was up to him to make it work. The same thing happened to 9E with Colgan being the non-union carrier. Then they became ALPA and somehow their history makes it "okay." People like Seggy got theirs and moved on a lot quicker than many 9E FOs, many of whom are still stuck as FOs. In retrospect, who really cares? One can take a stand all they want but the bottom line is people from Colgan and GoJet are at the top three legacies while those at 9E and TSA are still stuck. In the regionals, the game is to get to the one with the fastest advancement, get your time, and move on. Those chasing "QOL" are still stuck at those "QOL" regionals today.

Anyway, I find it extremely hypocritical for anyone to have come from Colgan to have an issue with GoJet given past history of a non-union airline gaining flying at the expense of its union counterpart.

You were at XJ, not 9E or 9L. I saw what happened first hand. Are you disputing what I said about 9L?
Do I really have to spoon feed you every damn time we disagree?

Was Colgan started as a go around to another pilot groups contract? No

Was Colgan's existence ever sued by ALPA for beginning its life as a scope breaking airline? No.

Colgan was an asset purchase by PNCL inc, had nothing to do with the pilots contract being violated. Pinnacle wasn't in contract negotiations for the Q and Trenery said, screw them we will buy Colgan.

By the way, XJ actually had an alter ego carrier called Big Sky. We killed them off. We've got a handle on alter egos.

Colgan was non union, that's about the worst thing that can be said when trying to hold them up to GoJets for parallel.

the stupid ALPA bumper stickers SAID "Alter Ego Jets". Good God! Did you NEVER get what the bumper sticker was about?

Did you just hear things and think you understood and never educated yourself?
