The $100 Hamburger: A little Story

To All,

Took my fiance' up this past weekend for the $100 Hamburger and I thought I would share the story:

1. Select Airport with Resturant (WWD): CHECK
2. Check Weather: Check
3. Rent Plane: CHECK
4. Call 1-800-WX-BRIEF. NO TFR's and Great flying weather: CHECK
5. Flight Plan: CHECK
6. Weight and Balance: CHECK
7. GAS: CHECK
8. Pre-flight: CHECK
9. Great flight down: CHECK
10: GREAT $100 Hamburger: FAIL (RESTURANT CLOSED AT 2:00PM)
11. HUNGRY FLIGHT HOME WITH ANGRY FIANCE': Priceless

I've learned that lessons the hard way too, although, my fiance wasn't with me.

I will now never forget the restaurant is closed Mondays.
 
I put this in the pic section with the intention of adding the pics but my office firewall is denying me access to photobucket. Some are in my album though.

Ouch, but WWD, fun airport.
 
My friend and I once flew 2.5 hours each way but the FBO closed 20 min prior to us getting there (middle of nowhere) and the cab would have been $40...no thanks.

Check out 26n, Ocean City, great airport on the bay with the best pancakes Ive ever had. Short walk to the beach also.

Matt,

We were going to head over to Ocean City but it is closed right now. I think it opens in April or something like that. We flew over it on the way home and it was "X"'d out.

When it opens I will give it a shot.

Very cool! Back in December my flight school did a fly out to the Hudson River corridor. We stopped at BLM and used it as a launching point for the corridor. Nice place. Btw, is the large awning actually a hangar with the walls cut out? I'll be sure to drop you a line the next time I visit the corridor.
 
Where is the picture that shows the "operating hours?" :rotfl:

That is the one I want to see!

The others are nice to.
