"That Guy"

I recently had an encounter with "that guy". New CFI who also pilots a new King Air in the hanger getting checked out by the owner, he doesn't know me from Jack. Needs a dispatch ticket so I show him how. Him, "I have millions of dollars of airplane in the hanger and I have to do this??" Of course he lets it drop that he's "an ATP with turboprop and jet time" as well. I tell him how impressed I am.
Later I'm sitting at a table getting ready for an aerobatic practice session and going over my notes. He saunters over and asks, "So, are you the designated chump who has to sit around here all day in case a new student comes in?" I have a feeling this guy may accidentally fall into a cactus filled ditch behind the hanger some day. Accidentally, of course.

Let me know if you need some help. Sounds like this guy needs a reality check.

If you go through life remembering that there is always someone that is smarter than you, can fly better than you, and looks better than you...you'll be alright.

I sometimes fail in humility when it comes to being disrespected. My sarcasm can get the best of me. I could go either way if asked that; one good, one not so polite answer

"That Guy" always has to let everyone around him know that he's a pilot.

Theres a cat stuck up a tree. A crowd of people gathers around the little girl crying for her cat to come down. "That Guy" approaches.
"That Guy"- It's alright folks! I'm a pilot!:insane:

Hmm...someone is sure quick to jump the gun.

The name "Justin" comes to mind, Mike, if that makes you feel better. And he's not on this site so relax.

There are plenty of "those guys" here too.

After so much crap on a trip, i eventually just start to tune them out, and pretty much only to anyone else but them because i cant stand them.

I've got a flight with that guy tonite. He has'nt flown in months or with me ever.

He's "ready" for the IFR checkride.

That three hour's of test prep is regarded as a mere formality.

Yeah we all know "that guy" and if not yet you'll meet him one day.I second the idea he's making up for lack of skill with big talk.
