for the ride home last night....it was bumpy, it was long but boy, were doug and i glad to be there!!

our Bucharest flight was late getting into JFK, if not for the 3+ hr delay due to weather, we would have been sleeping in the airport chairs for the night... and probably stuck for a few days cuz loads out of JFK, ATL and CVG looked BAD!!

We were so happy just to get on that flight....and yea, i'm at work after only 4 hrs of sleep (didn't get home till 2:30)... but i'm punching thru it all loopy but just as i should. Will probably head home early just to try and get a nap before the M&G tonight.

Just wanted to send a shoutout to those that were checking in at the gate and running the flight, you could tell they'd had a long day! :nana2:
 
ny metro was a mess yesterday. the day before that there was some pretty nasty wx further east toward boston. We got some interesting routing around that weather.
 
Yeup, if we didn't get out last night, we wouldn't be escaping NYC at all!

That's a pretty tough one and luckily I have not been forced to make a decision. I don't think I would do it unless I had to be at work the next day or something. My job is less tolerable of missed days than my wife's!

I will give my wife a shoutout for our last vacation. We were heading to Rome on a 10:15PM flight. I had been working a 14 hr duty day and landed at 9 PM and went to the gate to meet my wife for our vacation flight. When they cleared stabdbys we only got one first class seat. My wife insisted that I take it since I had worked all day and looked like hell I'm sure. I was out as soon as I sat down or had my first sip of bourbon and water (don't worry I was pass riding and out of uniform!). Lucky for us there were some no shows and before they closed the door the gate agent went back, got my wife, and moved us up a couple of rows in first. She's a cool chick!
 
Welcome to the JFK-LGA-EWR_PHL-DCA annual summer thunderstorm delays! I love ACY for that reason--it gets me home and it gets me outta here when I need to go!

Especially EWR!! My goodness, I think this airports trumps the others in the area with delays! Something about the fixes of the NEWARK 7.
